Genomics surveillance came into focus during COVID and as Wellcome Sanger were already tracking variants of other viruses, such as Malaria, they immediately pivoted to tracking variants of Coronavirus. The demand placed upon technology to transform its Data services to cope with the demand, required a significant increase in both permanent and contract resources. Langham have been engaged with Wellcome Sanger for a 2 year period and have been the lead supplier to the Genomics Suveillance Unit, working closely with both the Management and Recruitment teams to identify and secure a number of key permanent hires, whilst support across a number of areas with the placement of highly skilled contractors.
